This blog is about the story of my family here in America. We arrived in the 1630s as Puritans, and became the common folk of the New World.

The core of Christianity and Islam

If you're puzzled as to Islamic people and Christian people seem to hate each other, you are simply looking in the wrong place. And where you need to look is the core.

And that's because a lot of people who claim a particular religion really don't know much about it. I call these people the *Cliff Notes* types of people. Remember *Cliff Notes* from college? If you used them, then you didn't ever really have to study, you just passed tests.

But the core people don't accept short answers. And they don't accept words of hate. They read the Bible, and the Koran. And at the core is a message of love and acceptance, delivered through a prophet from a loving God. And yes, it's the same God.

The core people of Islam, and Christianity, are much fewer than the rest. And if you're dismayed by what people have done in the name of their religion, from the Crusades to Terrorism, look to the core. There you will find the heart.

Go in peace.
